Patrick Stewart McKinley, 23, lifelong resident of Valdosta, died on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Dodge County Hospital in Eastman from injuries sustained in an ATV accident. Born and raised in Valdosta, Patrick attended Open Bible Christian School through the 11th grade and graduated from Valdosta High School in 2011. He was a born entrepreneur. During high school he began working in the men's department at J.C. Penny and was soon recruited to work for Jos A. Bank. Patrick partnered with Chris Carter in operating Sunnyland Lawn Care, and assisted many people with their computer and technology issues. He provided disc jockey services as "Project Pat" and photography services through Dope Productions. Patrick was a junior at Valdosta State University where he was an Accounting major. He was currently employed in bookkeeping with Cauthan Construction Company. Patrick was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors are his father, Michael McKinley of Valdosta; sister, Kelly McKinley of Nashville, Tennessee; brother, Grayson McKinley of Valdosta; grandfather, Rex V. and Chris McKinley of Newport News, Virginia; grandmother, Lou McKinley of Tallahassee, Florida; uncle and aunt, Johnny and Donna Nichols of Warner Robins; aunt, Laura McKinley of Tallahassee, Florida; great aunt and great uncle, Judy and Tommy Fernald of Glynns Island, Virginia; and extended family members in the Marshall family. Patrick was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Kelly McKinley, grandparents, Rue Nell Kelly Thomas, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Carl W. and Mattie Marshall, uncle, Kenny Kelly, and great grandparents, Rex and Anita McKinley.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church. Reverend Ross Cook and Reverend David Cummings will officiate. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5 -7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Missions at Northside Baptist Church.
