Patricia Yvonne (Pat) Best

Patricia Yvonne "Pat" Best, 73, of Valdosta, died on Monday, November 14, 2011 at the South Georgia Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

She was born November 15, 1937 in Englewood, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Charles A. and Dorothy P. Rodgers Vervaet, and has made her home in Valdosta since 1968.

Pat was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Centering her life around children, she operated a daycare for forty years. She loved her children and grandchildren, raising them with strong Christian and family values.

She is survived by three daughters, Angie and husband Perry Dasher of Valdosta, Susan Bonura of Green Cove Springs, FL, and Carol and husband Mike Touchton of Valdosta; three sons, Bobby and wife Donna Rinehart of Palm Bay, FL, Jim Rinehart and partner Matthew Thurlow of Valdosta, and Patrick and wife Shannon Best of Valdosta; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jay P Best; and son, John Anthony Rinehart at birth.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Best will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Bussey officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
