Patricia "Patty" Cavender

Patricia “Patty” Cavender, 60, of Hahira, died on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at South Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness. She was born in Hawthorne, Florida on September 23, 1958 to the late Calvin and Joyce Hope Shepherd. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and worked as an office manager to various doctors and their practices in the Atlanta area, until declining health forced her into early retirement. Patty was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Cavender of Hahira; their children, Jerry Cavender, Brian Cavender, Melinda Padgett, and Steve Cox; grandchildren, Josh Wingate, Octavia Wingate, James Cavender, Dresden Cox, and Paisley Cavender; her siblings, Ronald Shepherd, Dennis Shepherd, Alan Shepherd, and Rhinda Lee; mother-in-law, Virginia Cavender; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Tommy Tomlinson.
