Pastor Kenneth Earl Raney

Pastor Kenneth Earl Raney, 78 of Valdosta, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at his residence. Born on May 7, 1926 in Decker, IN, he was the son of the late Lawrence E. and Okah L. Pittman Raney. He was the Pastor of the Jesus Name Apostolic Church, Valdosta, GA for the past 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nedra Wilson Raney of 19 years, two sons, Larry Raney and Danny Wayne Raney, a daughter, Linda Pace, one granddaughter, Natasha Raney and a brother, Edwin Raney.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Myrna Smith Raney; two daughters, Sherry (Bob) Lietha, Valdosta, GA, Lana (Marcus) Holt, Hahira, GA; four sons, Stephen Raney, Valdosta, GA, Russell (Andra) Raney, Columbus, IN, Randy (JoDeana) Raney, Linton, IN, Joseph (Lisa) Raney, Port Orchard, WA; a brother, Robert (Wilma) Raney, Vincennes, IN; 18 grandchildren and 6 great granddaughters.

Pastor Raney will lie in state at the Jesus Name Apostolic Church, 3855 Old Hw. 41 N., Valdosta, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at the church with Elder James Gowan and Pastor Don Abernathy officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
