Pamela Jo Dykeman Wood, 54, of Valdosta died Thrursday, January 13, 2011 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Valdosta on June 18, 1956 to Ruth Clayton Dykeman and the late William F. Dykeman. Mrs. Wood was a Methodist and had served as the Deputy Clerk of Court for Lowndes County. Pam was loved by everyone she knew and never met a stranger. She had an infectious personality was friends with many people in Valdosta and other places and was a Daddy's girl. A true friend has left us and will be missed by many.
Survivors include her husband, Dean Wood, her son, Jason Williams, her mother, Ruth Dykeman all of Valdosta, her brother, Billy Dykeman of Jacksonville, Fla. a special aunt, Iona Daugharty of Statenville and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, William F. Dykeman.
Memorial services will be held at 4pm, Sunday, January 16, 2011 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research, Attn: Donor Services, P. O.
