Paige Fountain Killeen

Paige Fountain Killeen, 63, passed away December 26, 2017. She was born in Atlanta, GA to Homer and Dorothy Fountain. She attended Peachtree High School in Dunwoody, GA and attended the University of Georgia and Valdosta State College. Paige devoted much of her life to helping others and organizations in the community. When living in Lake Park during her daughter, Alexis’s childhood, she was very active in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and School. She later moved to the panhandle and continued her dedication to the community. As a business leader in the community, she owned Wakulla Discount Liquor. She was a strong advocate and voice for the community and causes she strongly believed in and served on numerous committees and task forces. Through her involvement in the Panacea Waterfronts Florida Partnership she had the vision of starting Christmas In Panacea and the Rock the Dock Fishing Tournament. These events have become successful in Panacea. Other groups include: Panacea Blue Crab Festival, Wakulla Ducks Unlimited, Wakulla Republican Women's Club, Ochlockonee Bay Volunteer Fire Department Aux., Former director of Panacea Area Water System, Wakulla Chamber of Commerce, Volunteer Coordinator of Wakulla Welcome Center in Panacea. The last few years she has spent being a caregiver to her parents. She was a wonderful caregiver to them. Her greatest joy though was spending time with her grandchildren Tanner and Connor the last few years. Paige is survived by her daughter, Alexis Blue (Ryan); grandchildren Tanner and Connor; parents Homer & Dorothy Fountain; sister, Leslie Burford (Bart), sister Lacey Keim; niece, Ashley Padgett (David); nephew, Taylor Burford (Mellody), and nephew, Zack Keim. Funeral service will be held in Valdosta, GA on Friday January 12 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 800 Gornto Road with family visitation from 12:00-1:00 and services immediately following. A memorial in Panacea, FL will be held at a later time with a memorial fund set up in her honor for the Panacea Waterfronts Florida Partnership.
