Ozzie Lee (Buster) Cowart, Jr.

Ozzie Lee (Buster) Cowart, Jr., 54 of Valdosta, died on Friday, July 01, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. He was born on September 16, 1950 in Valdosta. Mr. Cowart was a member of Stone Creek Golf and Country Club, Kinderlou Golf Club and Spains Ferry Hunting Club. He was retired from Bellsouth and was a veteran of the Air National Guard. Mr. Cowart was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors are his wife, Patti Cowart of Valdosta; mother and stepfather, Rachel and Lewis Russell of Valdosta; a devoted friend, Belenda Burleigh of Valdosta; father-in-law, Robert Dickert of Jacksonville, FL; brother-in-law, Jim Dickert and family of Jacksonville, FL and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Ozzie Lee Cowart, Sr. and his mother-in-law, Betty Dickert.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend John D. Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 3, 2005 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
