Owen Franklin Lindsey

Owen Lindsey, 67, of Valdosta died Thursday, October 23, 2014 at his residence. He was born on November 7, 1946 in Hahira to the late Mathew Robert Lindsey, Sr. and Nellie Mae Weldon Lindsey. Owen was retired from the United States Air Force and served from 1965 until 1987. He was a Baptist.
He was a devoted husband to his wife, Phillis Rose Lindsey of Valdosta and a loving father to his children, Kimberly Youmans (Wayne) of Lake Park, Kelly Stone of Valdosta, Judy Maeyoshimoto (Rodd) of Honolulu, Hawaii and Jimmy Lindsey (Sara) of Valdosta, five grandchildren, April Youmans, Amanda Stone, Anna Bella (Sunshine) Jackson, Aidan Sean Lindsey and Reese (Momo) Maeyoshimoto, two great grandchildren, Alyssa Bates and Alivia Bates, two sisters and brothers in law, Betty and Richard Gray of Hahira and Marie and Randall Dixon of Eastman, three brothers and sisters in law, Wayne and Sandra Lindsey of Hahira, Kenneth and Gail Lindsey of Perry and Mathew and Vicki Lindsey of Hahira, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 27, 2014 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with Reverend Jim Schappaugh officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends from three until five p. m. Sunday at the funeral home.
