Ouida Holt Lefiles

Ouida Holt LeFiles, 85, of Valdosta, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born March 24, 1929, in Rochelle, GA, a daughter of the late Ophelia and Sarah Gibbs Holt. Mrs. LeFiles was Head Teller at First Federal Savings and Loan for many years before becoming Assistant Superior Court Clerk for Lowndes County, retiring September of 1998. She was a very active, longtime member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church, and devoted her life to her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She loved to cook and celebrate the Holidays with her family, as well as traveling and visiting the beach with family and friends. She enjoyed playing Bridge, and was an avid Wildcats fan, especially during her husband's tenure as a Wildcat coach. She had a generous heart and enjoyed sharing her time and gifts with others.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Marty and Wonnie LeFiles of Valdosta, and Jimmy and Pat LeFiles of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Mark LeFiles and fiancé Ann Meyer of Jacksonville, FL, Christie LeFiles Dillon and husband Matt Dillon of Gonzales, LA, Ashley LeFiles Baity of Valdosta, and James LeFiles and wife Jessi Wyatt LeFiles of Hahira; two great-grandsons, Gage LeFiles of Jacksonville, FL, and Alex Baity of Valdosta; one sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Billy Osbon of Atlanta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julian; three sisters, Hazel, Romelle and Geneva; and three brothers, Lanier, Curtis and Harold.

The Funeral Service for Mrs. LeFiles will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Park Avenue United Methodist Church, with Rev. Hale Bishop and Rev. David Tart officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Tuesday at the church.
