Otto Franklin Pittman, 83, of Hahira died Monday, February 1, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on March 15, 1937 in Manor, Georgia to the late Otto and Verdie Steedley Pittman and had lived in Valdosta since 1968. Mr. Pittman was a member of Northside Baptist Church and a retired postal clerk with the United States Postal Service after thirty-seven years of service. He loved God and sharing the gospel with anyone he met. Mr. Pittman loved spending time with his family and his neighbors, working in his yard and fishing. He played basketball with Manor High School where he played on the 1955 team that went undefeated for thirty-two games.
Survivors include his son and daughter in law, Tim and Robbie Pittman of Valdosta; daughter and son in law, Sandee and Tony Simmons of Hahira; grandchildren, Alyssa and Michael Bellantoni, Kellie and H. R. Price, Brooke and Kyle Green, Ashlee Simmons, Trista Simmons; great grandchildren, Zarek Bellantoni, Layla Bellantoni, Hudson Price, Hatton Price, Hollie Price, Parker Green; brother and sister in law, Wallace and Juanita Pittman of Callahan, FL; sister and brother in law, Sophronia and Harry Leo James of Argyle, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Pat) Cowart Pittman and a brother, Michael Pittman.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Friday, February 5, 2021 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Willis and Dr. Robby Foster officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:30 til 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
