Onnie Parker Ivey Dorminey

July 28, 1931 — June 4, 2008

ONNIE PARKER IVEY DORMINEY, 76, of Valdosta died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Cook County on July 28, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Charlie Parker and Lillian Williams Parker Glisson. Mrs. Dorminey attended the Abundant Life Church of God and was a member of the Bemiss United Methodist Church. She owned and operated a children's daycare in Valdosta for thirty five years. Mrs. Dorminey loved gardening, being with people and playing bingo.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Jerry and Margie Ivey, Wyllane and Mike Biles and Thomas W., Jr. and Mary Dorminey all of Valdosta, grandchildren and their spouses, Bobby and Pam Ivey of Jacksonville, Fla., Debra and Brian Ginn of Columbus, SSgt. Brent Biles stationed in Iraq, Charles and Brandelyn House, Travis Biles and Emily Ann Dorminey all of Valdosta, one sister, Willie Belle Godwin of Macon, sisters in law and brothers in law, Ruth Dugger of Maryville, TN., Bobby Hatcher of Quitman, Inez Hosey of Hahira, Avie Dorminey of Valdosta, Jean and Joe Brogdon of Lakeland, William, Jr. and Sharon Dorminey of Junction City, KS., Virginia Martin of Tennessee, Janice and Jim Gobin of Abilene, TX. and E. E. and Nadine Eunice of Tallahassee, Fla., numerous nieces and nephews and the many children who stayed in her daycare through the years. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Audley Ivey and Thomas Walter Dorminey, Sr., her brothers, Ewart Parker and James Dugger, her sisters, Dorothy Mae Forte and Marian Hatcher.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 7, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Hughes and Rev. James Sapp officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00-8:30pm at the funeral home.
