Ollie Grace Consolo, a resident of Valdosta passed away September 16th, at her home, as she wished, after a lengthy illness. She moved to Valdosta from Lakeland, FL and also was a previous resident of Tazewell, VA. She is survived by the loves of her life, a daughter Constance C. Stotts of Jacksonville, FL, granddaughters, Angela K. Cox of Jacksonville, FL and Jennifier L. Gardner (David) of Orlando, FL and great granddaughter Kristina Mutter of Orlando, FL. Her devoted sisters Gelana K. Goddard and Maxine Clark both of Valdosta, GA. A nephew Bob Goddard, III (Mattia) of Valdosta and niece Regal A. Goddard of New York. grandnephew Bobby and grand niece Raquel Goddard. She was preceded in death by her husband Pete, an infant son Ralph and her mother and father Mary and Dawson Hicks.
Though limited by her illness, she was an avid bird watcher, butterfly collector and loved her fancy tea pots from all over the world. In her later days she never missed a televised golf tournament having been a pretty good golfer herself.
The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. with prayer services following with Reverend Jay Watkins officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Princeton, West Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Second Harvest Food Bank, Gil Harbin Circle, Valdosta, GA., 31601 or Hospice of South Georgia, 2263 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, GA., 31602.
