Ollie Franklin Howell, Sr.

Ollie F. Howell, Sr. 75, beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend of Mayday passed away Friday, October 29, 2010 at South Georgia Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born on August 2, 1935 in Mayday, GA to Earl Lamar and Frankie Terrell Howell. Mr. Howell was the owner and operator of Howell Irrigation, a United States Army veteran, a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and a Gideon.

He is survived by his wife, Susie Anne McCollough Howell of Mayday, a daughter and son in law, LaTrell and James Webber of Mayday, a son, Ollie F. (Bubba) Howell, Jr. of Roanoke, VA, grandchildren, George (Butch) Hartman, Jr., Krystle Lawrence (Scott), Tyana Howell, Mitchell Howell, Mariah Howell and great grandchildren, Bree Hartman, Maddox Hartman, Clayton Lawrence, Grant Lawrence and Hannah Lawrence, his mother, Frankie T. Howell of 96 years of Mayday, brothers and sisters in law, Bobby and Montez Howell of Mayday, Walter and Brenda Howell of Valdosta, Donald Howell of Mayday, sister and brother in law, Donna Linda and Don Studstill of Mayday, many nieces, nephews and extended family. Mr. Howell is predeceased by his father, Earl Lamar Howell, a sister, Beadie Irene Howell.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 1, 2010 at one p. m. at Good Hope Baptist Church near Naylor, GA with Reverend A. M. Anderson and Reverend Wayne Boykin officiating. Burial will follow in Wayfare Cemetery off Highway 129 in Echols County. He will be placed in the church at noon. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m.
