Olive Davidson Wofford, 91, of Savannah, GA and a longtime resident of Remerton, GA and longtime resident of Azalea Towers in Valdosta, GA died Sunday, December 24, 2006 at St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA. She was born on September 13, 1915 in Laurens County, GA to the late John and Minnie Scott Davidson. Mrs. Wofford was a member of New Harvest United Methodist Church and was a textile weaver for more than fifty years and the majority of that time was with Strickland Cotton Mills. Her husband, Noble A. Wofford, Sr. preceded her in death on April 11, 1976.
She is survived by two sons, Noble A. Wofford, Jr. of Appleton, Wisconsin and Kent Wofford of Callahan, FL, one daughter and son in law, Angela and Johnny Southerland of Savannah, GA, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one sister, Roberta Harrell of Ozark, AL and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 2006 at eleven a. m. in the McLane Chapel with Reverend Beth Bevill officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Harvest United Methodist Church.
