Ola B. Singletary, 96 of Valdosta, died on Sunday, March 20, 2005 at her residence after a short illness. Born on January 7, 1909 in Berrien County, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Mary Cook Benefield. Mrs. Singletary was a homemaker and had been a member of the Azalea City Church of God since 1973.
She is survived by her children, Queenie Ola and Lloyd Adams of Ironton, MN, Mack Daniel and Geneva Singletary, Jessie Mae and Sterling Garnto, Charles David and Kay Singletary, Lawana Gail and Richard Palmer all of Valdosta; 20 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Minnie Singletary of Nashville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Singletary, a son, Lankford Singletary of Fargo and a daughter, Rue Helen Rogers Churchwell of East Dublin.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ola B. Singletary will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at the Azalea City Church of God with Reverend Raymond Gabbard and Reverend Bobby Tatum officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Berrien County.
