Norman Thomas (Tommy) Walters

Norman Thomas (Tommy) Walters, 68, of Lake Park, died on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born in Quitman, on August 17, 1940, he was the son of the late Norman Hershel and Sallie Keen Walters. Mr. Walters was a retired logger, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a Mason and Past Master of Azalea City Lodge 716. Mr. Walters was a Catholic.

Survivors are his daughters and son in law, Karen Dawn Bass of Nashville, Tracy Lynn and Marc Ghirardi of Atlanta, son and daughter in law, Norman Steven and Dianne Walters of Valdosta; grandchildren, Norman Zackery Walters, Caitlyn Grace Walters of Valdosta, Cori Laine Bass, Hannah Grace Underwood of Nashville, Ella Lorene Ghirardi of Atlanta. Mr. Walters was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lorene Moore Walters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson Mclane Funeral Home. Father Dan O’Connell will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
