Norma Floyce Minton

December 12, 1915 — December 21, 2008

NORMA FLOYCE MINTON, 93, of Valdosta, died Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Heritage Nursing Home. She was born December 12, 1915 in Lowndes County, a daughter of the late Ula Lee and Minnie Lee Durst Courson. For many years she was employed as a textile worker at Strickland Mills.

Mrs. Minton was a member of New Harvest United Methodist Church and Woodmen of the World. She greatly enjoyed her family and traveling.

She is survived by two daughters, Lucille and husband James R. Menear, and Linda and husband Eddie Herrin; three sons, James W. and wife Carolyn Minton, Alton R. Minton, and Robert C. Minton, all of Valdosta; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband James Ray Minton, two brothers, Lee L. Courson and James Lester Courson, and by one sister, Eula Estelle West.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 24, 2008 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Hauser officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens.
