Nona Player Massey

September 11, 1942 — January 4, 2021

Nona Player Massey, 78, of Lake Park passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Valdosta on September 11, 1942 to the late Collis Floyd Player and Edna Brady Player. Mrs. Massey was a staff accountant with Menser Company of Atlanta and a member of Enoch Creek Church. She enjoyed cooking, was a people person and enjoyed going to church. She was a graduate of Lowndes County High School and ran a successful tax preparation business. She had professed her faith in Jesus Christ and was an active member of Enoch Creek Church where she was active in the Happy Seniors of Faith, sang in the choir and was on the Hospitality Committee. As a result of her generous spirit and kind heart she was loved by all. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished through the lives of her son's Richard and Jason, grandchildren, brother's and sister and extended family members. She will be deeply missed by all.
She is survived by her husband, James Warren Massey of Lake Park, two sons and daughter in law, James Richard Massey of Valdosta and Jason Warren Massey (Misty) of Woodstock, grandchildren, Justin Ray, Tleska Massey and Marina Massey, sister and brother in law, Charlie Ann Frye (Randy) of Groveland, FL, brothers and sisters in law, Tony R. Player (Lisa) of Deatsville, AL, Marion F. Player (Lanie) of Valdosta and Collis W. Player of Valdosta, Aunt and Uncle, Lindsey and Howard Stanford of Valdosta, very special friends, Sheila and Perry Knight and Lee Wisenbaker, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2021 at eleven a. m. at Enoch Creek Church with Reverend Mickey Corbett and Reverend Zack Corbett officiating. Burial will Follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from ten until eleven a. m. Saturday at the church. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com.
