Nina Rowan Griffin

Nina Rowan Griffin, 87, of Lake Park, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Smith Northview Hospital. She was born on October 29, 1921 in Berrien County to the late Lucious and Eva Bloodworth Rowan. Mrs. Griffin was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter and son in law, Jean and Richard Waddell of Chesapeake, VA, one son and daughter in law, Danny and Nancy Griffin of Valdosta, five grandchildren, Patricia Kirby, Samantha Hulatt and her husband, Shawn, Robert L. Veir and his wife, April, SSgt Daniel Mitchell Griffin, Jr. and his wife, Maranda and Leeanne Griffin, two sisters in law, Ida Commander and Thearis Rowan, both of Valdosta. Mrs. Griffin is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Mitchell Griffin, one son, Bobby L. Griffin and two grandsons, David Myatt and Ray Myatt.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Eldridge Lyons officiating. Burial will follow at Long Bridge Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Friday at the funeral home.
