Nina Drew

Nina Drew, 74, of Hahira passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born on August 12, 1935 in Dade County, Florida to the late Huron Wilson and Trudy Bryant Barfield and had lived in Hahira most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty seven years, Kenneth Drew in 2008 and a son, Kenneth Daryl Drew in 1999. Nina worked with Dr. Jesse L. Parrott for twenty seven years as his office nurse and after retirement she worked on the family farm. She always told her daughter there was shot for everything, even when trying to play hookie from school. She loved her flowers, yard, cooking and baking. Mrs. Drew was a member of the Hahira First Baptist Church.

Nina leaves behind a daughter and son in law, Rena Kay and Herman Rozier of Hahira, grandson, Drew Rozier and his fiancé, Amy Lacey, granddaughter, Melanie Rozier, one sister, Marlene Kinard of Charleston, SC., three brothers and sisters in law, N.H. and Margie Wilson of Morristown, TN., Paul and Margaret Wilson of Ft. Worth, TX., Jimmy and Mary Ann Wilson of Panama City, Fla., two sisters in law, Cyledia Drew and Margaret Drew Boyette both of Hahira, family friends and caregivers, Florence Matchett and Sharon Hudgins, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Sunday, July 18, 2010 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Heyward Hiers officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Grace Hospice, 101 Northside Dr., Valdosta, GA 31602.
