Nelson T. King

NELSON T. KING, 76, of Valdosta died Monday, February 14, 2005 at home. He was born on April 14, 1928 in Berrien County to the late Curtis and Geneva Woods King and had lived in Valdosta for the past fifty eight years. Mr. King was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the VFW. He was a retired credit manager with Sears and Rhodes Furniture and had owned and operated Modern Mobile Homes at Bemiss. Mr. King had served as treasurer with the Bemiss/Barretts Volunteer Fire Department and was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Lavan King of Valdosta, daughter and son in law, Pat and Pete Owen of Pigeon Forge, TN., son and daughter in law, Stephen and Kathy King of Hiawassee, four grandchildren and their spouses, David and Peggy Copeland of Bristol, VA., Sherry and Joey Parker of Hahira, Michael King and Jeremy King both of Hiawassee, one great grandson, Hunter Parker of Hahira, one sister, Bertha King of Valdosta.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm, Friday, February 18, 2005 at Riverview Memorial Gardens with Pete Owen officiating.
