Nellie Mae Childs, 84 of Lake Park died on Monday, May 16, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. Born on February 13, 1921 in Stevenson, AL, she was the daughter of the late William Edward and Lila Jane Kilgore Lusk. Mrs. Childs was a homemaker and a member of the Lake Park Church of God.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William (Billy) Childs of Lake Park; daughter, Sharon Cowart of Lake Park; son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Glenda Childs of Cumming; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Gladys and Morris Boyd of Fitzgerald; Frances and Buddy Sapp of Quitman; Ann and Wade Bryant of Fitzgerald; Annie Laura Lusk of Valdosta and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2005 at the Azalea City Church of God with Reverend Raymond Gabbard and Reverend Keith Sandlin officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home of Lake Park.
