Nell Barwick Martin

Nell Barwick Martin, 78, of Valdosta died Thursday, August 4, 2016 at her home. She was born in White Springs, Florida on November 8, 1937 to the late Hardy Bruce and Elsie Mae Brown Barwick and had lived in Valdosta all of her life. Mrs. Martin was a member of the Dasher Church of Christ and retired from First State Bank. She was a faithful servant of God, active in the community, touched many lives and was loved by many. She was preceded in death by her husband, John G. (Johnny) Martin.
Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Tim and Lisa Martin of Franklin, TN; her daughter, Susan Martin of Jacksonville, FL; her grandchildren, J. T. Martin, Meredith Martin both of Franklin, TN; Clayton and McKinley Martin of Trussville, AL; her grandpuppy, John "Abbott" Martin; brothers and sisters, Bruce and Delita Barwick, Faye Hendley, Vivian Martin, Linda Joyce and Bill Marlette, John Irvin, Myra and Bill Mashburn, Melvin and Janice Irvin all of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, August 7, 2016 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. David Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
