Navie Lee Godwin

Navie Lee Suber Godwin, 86, of Valdosta, died Saturday, October 18, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. She was born on October 7, 1922 in Maryville, GA to the late Glenn and Eva Mae Luke Suber. Mrs. Godwin retired as a seamstress from Levi's after working there thirty years and four months. She was a Baptist and enjoyed reading and playing bingo.

Mrs. Godwin is survived by one son and daughter in law, Glenn and Ann Godwin of Naylor, one daughter, Linda Brown of Omega, three grandchildren, Greg Godwin (Jennifer), Merle Spriggs (April) and Austina Cook, four great grandchildren, Kendall Godwin, Landon Godwin, Austin Cook and Arthur Cook. She is preceded in death by her husband, Austin Godwin.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Ross Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
