Nancy Daniels Holmes

Nancy Holmes, 83, of Lake Park, died at Baptist Village after a short illness on Sunday, May 29, 2005. Born in Dooly County, Georgia on December 4, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ada Daniels. Mrs. Holmes was a school teacher for 34 years, teaching in Brooks and Macon counties. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Montezuma.

Survivors are her daughter and son in law, Becky and Joe Griffin of Valdosta, Elaine and Stacy Smith of Saudi Arabia; grandchildren, Joey and Rhonda Griffin, Mike Griffin, Jamie Griffin, Jason and Carrie Smith, Eric Smith; great granddaughters, Emily and Ashlyn Griffin; sister, Ruth Meeks of Nicholls, brother, Pete Daniels of California. Mrs. Holmes was preceded in death by her husband, Winston Holmes.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Henry Cannington will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in the Bertha Dozier Cemetery in Montezuma.
