Nancy B. Bennett

Nancy B. Bennett, 80, of Naylor passed away March 7, 2015 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born September 13, 1934 in Naylor, GA to the late James Willie and Doris Monk Bass. Mrs. Bennett had been a lifelong resident of Naylor and was a faithful member of Naylor Baptist Church. She was a retired caseworker for the Georgia Department of Family and Children's Services (DFACS). In her spare time she enjoyed genealogy and was a member of the Huxford Society for genealogy.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gerald "Tim" Tilman and Patricia Strada Bennett, Garey Steven Bennett all of Naylor; four grandchildren, Nikki Bennett Odom and Kevin J. Odom of Cherry Lake, FL, Tilman Lee Bennett, Jason Dykes, Joey and Dana Dykes all of Jacksonville, FL; six great grandchildren; two brothers and sister-in-laws, Benard E. and Rose Bass of Rincon, GA, Ronald O. and Patsy Bass of Savannah, Ga; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Marvin T. Bennett. Also, four brothers, James E. "Bunch" Bass, Darrel Bass, George Bass, and Paul H. Bass.

Funeral services for Nancy B. Bennett will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in the chapel at Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. A.M. Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Bennett Family Cemetery in Naylor. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Carson McLane Funeral Home.
