Myrtle Touchton Dasher, 97, of Valdosta, died Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Fellowship Home. She was born on June 29, 1919 in Barretts, GA to the late Jerry Thomas Touchton, Sr. and Mary Etta Washington Touchton. Mrs. Dasher was a homemaker and a member of Hahira First Baptist Church. She graduated from Hahira High School. Formerly a model for Burdine's she had appeared in Life magazine. She was married to Roy Thomas Dasher for seventy three years. In the late 1950's the Dasher's moved to Puerto Rico and established a concrete industry and operated it for over twenty years.
Mrs. Dasher is survived by her nephew and partner, Jim Touchton and Terence Sullivan of Lake Park, niece, Jeree Blanchard of Pinellas Park, FL, dear friend, Lena Bosch of Valdosta, nephew and wife, Sammy and Pam Dasher of Folkston. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jerry Thomas Touchton, Jr. of Hahira, sisters, Era List of New Port Richey, FL and Irma Simmons of Perine, FL.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 9, 2017 at two p. m. at the graveside at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Mr. Buddy LaHood officiating. A reception will follow after the graveside service at Park Place, 108 West Park Avenue. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
