MYRTLE LEE ARNOLD, 82, of Valdosta died Thursday, May 10, 2007 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in 1924 in Plant City, Florida to the late Elias and Effie Rowell Ray and had lived in Lowndes County for many years. Mrs. Arnold retired as a nurses aide from South Georgia Medical Center and enjoyed sewing. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Valdosta.
Survivors include two daughters and a son in law, Carolyn H. Weeks of Valdosta, Edith and Robert Howard of Covington, two sons and a daughter in law, Carlton and Dianne Hunter of Newnan and Donnie L. Hunter of Hahira, 8-grandchildren, 19-great grandchildren, 1-great great grandchild, one brother, Aaron Ray of Ballground, Ga and a sister, Susie Honican of Mt. Dora, Fla., numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ethridge Hunter and Shelton Arnold, two daughters, Sylvia Jean Hunter, Mary Evelyn Hunter, a sister, Nancy Tucker and five brothers, Flem Ray, Junior Ray, Mitch Ray, Vester Ray and William Ray.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, May 12, 2007 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Sayre and Rev. Theo Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Longbridge Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
