Myrtle B. Hendry Lester

Myrtle B. Hendry Lester, 85, of Douglas, , died on Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at the Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, GA. She was born in Valdosta on May 15, 1920 and was the daughter of the late John and Henrietta Dupree Hendry. She was a homemaker and member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She lived for some time in California and came back to Georgia in 1973 to help take care of her mother who died in 1979 and then moved to Douglas. She was married four times and had seven children.

She is survived by her daughters, E. Kennetha (Hendren) Wardell of Douglas, G. Joyce (Sirmans) Willis of Pacifica, CA, Sue (Manz) Dean-Hein of Ray City; Sons, Daniel Sirmans, Charleston, SC, Robert D. Sirmans, Nenana, Alaska, James A. Sirmans, Korea; brother, V.J. Hendry, Hahira, 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Webster H. Sirmans, Jr., brothers, John Hendry & Bobby Hendry, sister, Lula Hendry Warren.

Memorial services will be held in the Chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home, Saturday, July 30, 2005 at 11 a.m. Mr. Roger Lowery will officiate.
