Murray Chance, 79, of Valdosta passed away on November 28, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on December 31, 1935 in McEwen, TN to the late Homer Garfield and Mary Ellen Wright Chance. Mr. Chance served for 10 years in the United States Air Force and eventually retired after working in the dairy business. His deep love for music led him to become the manager of the Chance Brothers Band and also teach his boys to play guitar and appreciate the music that he loved. Besides music, Mr. Chance enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a loving father and he will be missed by his family.
Mr. Chance is survived by five sons and two daughters-in-law, Kenneth Chance of Valdosta, Tony Chance of Adel, Ronnie Chance of Ray City, Greg and Kelly Chance of Fayetteville, GA, Timmy and Michelle Chance of Valdosta; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Angie Ingram Sanders of Atlanta, Samantha and Greg Gay of Valdosta, Toni and James Hennly of Valdosta; nineteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; a brother, Bill Chance of Akron, OH; three sisters, Frances Walters of Peoria, IL, Sally Phipps of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Doretha Brunty of Akron, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Joy Chance.
Services for Murray Chance will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Grace Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
