Muriel Rosemary Mason

Muriel Rosemary Allum Mason, 80, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the Langdale Hospice House after a lengthy illness. She was born on March 22, 1929 in Binfield Heath Henley-On-Thames Oxfordshire, England to the late Charles William and Alice Mary Manners Allum. Mrs. Mason was a homemaker, a member of Christ Episcopal Church and a former member of the Union Jack Club.

She is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Gillie and Michael Dunagan of Vestavia Hills, AL and Leslie and Ron Ridley of Lake Park, one son and daughter in law, Stuart III and Wanda Mason of Wake Forest, NC, three grandchildren, Jennifer (Rico) Chmielewski of Lake Park, Emily Murray of Nashville, GA and Stuart Lindsay Mason IV of Wake Forest, NC, two great grandchildren, Spencer Chmielewski and Briggs Chmielewski. Mrs. Mason was predeceased by her husband of fifty five years, Stuart Lindsay Mason, Jr. on January 8, 2010. She is also predeceased by three brothers, Stan Allum, Jeff Allum and Peter Allum.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2010 at four p. m. at the Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Father Peter Ingeman officiating. The family will recieve friends from three until four p. m. at the mausoleum. Burial will follow. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Langdale Hospice House, 2263 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, GA 31602.
