Mrs. Jack Wilkerson, 75 of Valdosta, died on Monday, July 11, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center. Born on December 24, 1929 in Dawson, TX, she was the daughter of the late L. E., Sr. and Nettie Jane Blakley Black. Mrs. Wilkerson was a housewife and a member of Lakeland Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jack Wilkerson of Valdosta; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Jeannine Wilkerson, Rick and Joy Wilkerson all of Valdosta; daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Phillip Beach of Arab, AL, Kathi and John Williams of Valdosta; sister, Martha Eberhard of Austin, TX; sister-in-law, Florence Black of Waco, TX; brothers-in-law, Frank Wilkerson and his wife Maydell of Callahan, FL, Ferrell Herring of Ray City; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by grandson, John David Williams, Jr., brother, L. E. Black, Jr., sisters, Letha Faye Jackson, Francis White, brothers-in-law, David Eberhard, Henry Wilkerson, sister-in-law, Myrtle Herring, father-in-law, W. W. Wilkerson and mother-in-law, Mary Alvera Wilkerson.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wilkerson will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2005 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Mr. Mardy Gardner and Reverend Jim Schappaugh will officiate. Burial will follow in Cat Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
