Morris Glenn Hancock, 62, of Valdosta, died on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at his home. Born in Quitman on April 25, 1947 he was the son of the late James and Mary Hancock. Mr. Hancock was a Fireman with the Valdosta Fire Department for 33 years. He was a member of Gateway Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was a member of the Walk to Emmaus Reunion Group. He loved to fish and hunt. Mr. Hancock was well known for and will be remembered for his famous cooking at the Fire Department and church.
Mr. Hancock is survived by his wife, Janice of Valdosta, three sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Liz of Leesburg, Mike and Derya of Melbourne, Florida, Chris and Angela of Jacksonville, Florida; eleven grandchildren, Nicole, Josh, Jeremy and Jordan Hancock, Kayla, Kacy, Michael, Cole and Lara Hancock, Jorey and Brittany Hancock; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Raymond Touchton of Jennings, Florida; brother, Jimmy Hancock of Lakeland.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Gateway Baptist Church. Reverend Jack Seiverd and Reverend Maxie Wililams will officiate. Burial will follow at Cat Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 12 – 2 p.m. at Gateway Baptist Church. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
