Montine Foutz

Montine Foutz, 71, of Valdosta, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Fellowship Home in Nashville. A Valdosta native, Mrs. Foutz was born on January 21, 1949, daughter of the late Jefferson McKay Bonner and Clarice Bonner Yates. A 1967 graduate of Valdosta High School where she played the bells with the Marching Cats. Montine enjoyed playing piano early in life at Lee Street Baptist. As a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Montine helped lead youth group and was a very active member of LWML, known for her servant’s heart. She graduated from VSC in 1971 and went on to get her specialist degree in 1990. She enjoyed teaching and taught elementary school for 30 years at Lake Park Elementary School.
Survivors are her husband of 49 years, David Crawford Foutz of Valdosta; daughter, Kelly (David) Paulk of Clyattville; son, Keith (Rachel) Foutz of Highland, Indiana; eight grandchildren, David M. Paulk, III, Emily Paulk, Catie Paulk, Kaitlyn, Kaleb, Kadyn, Kolton, and Kody Foutz; brother and sister-in-law, Mark (Susan) Foutz of Fernandina, Florida, sister-in-law, Kathy Bonner of Valdosta; brother, John (Crisha) Bonner of LaGrange; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, James Bonner, and stepfather, Tim Yates.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church with Reverend Frank Kinast officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
