Mollie Layton Lewis

MOLLIE LAYTON LEWIS, 80, of Valdosta died Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on February 27, 1927 in Naylor to the late Albert and Bama Wetherington Layton and had lived in San Diego, California before returning to Lowndes County several years ago. Mrs. Lewis was retired from the meat industry and was a Baptist.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty Marie Schultz of Mankato, Kansas, her son, Jerry E. Dennis of Valdosta, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, her brother, Albert Layton of Jacksonville, Fla. and her sister, Esther Faye Rowland of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon N. Lewis, Jr.
