MIREYA BORBON RINCON, 45, of Valdosta died Friday, April 11, 2008 at her home after a short illness. She was born on December 26, 1962 in Bogota, Colombia and had lived in Valdosta for eight years. She was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church and attended the Valdosta Hispanic Mission. She loved the Lord very deeply. A wonderful and devoted wife, mother and friend she committed her entire life to serving the Lord. She served as a missionary to the Indians in the jungles of Colombia and as a social worker at an orphange for street children of Bogota. Mrs. Rincon served as a volunteer and coordinator of the Mailbox Club Lessons to Hispanic Children and inmates in America for several years. She served as a Sunday School teacher and Women's Leader at the Valdosta Hispanic Mission.
Survivors include her husband, Omar Rincon, her daughter, Annie Rincon, her son, Matthew Rincon all of Valdosta, her mother, Gilma de Borbon, her father, Jorge Borbon, brothers and sisters in law, Armando and Francy Borbon, Fabio and Faride Borbon, Oscar and Sandra Borbon all of Bogota, Colombia, sister and brother in law, Mirtha and Hermaes Franco of Bucaramanga, Colombia, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 4pm, Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the Crossroads Baptist Church with Dr. Ken Alford and Rev. Ovidio Cabrera officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
