M.T. Miller

December 11, 1937 — July 30, 2024

Valdosta, GA

Milton Tyrone Miller, fondly known as MT, 86, died on July 30, 2024, after a period of declining health.

MT was born December 11, 1937, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, and was the only child of Wilma McAdams Miller and John Miller. He grew up on a farm in Petersburg, Tennessee, where he attended the Church of Christ. Upon high school graduation, he came to Atlanta to go to TV Repair School. While attending school, he took a job with Southern Bell, which later became AT&T. He worked there his entire career and retired after 33 years of service. MT lived most of his adult life in the Mableton, Georgia area until 2018, when he moved to an assisted living center in Valdosta, Georgia.

In retirement, MT became a car enthusiast and a professional piddler. He spent many hours restoring a 1939 Ford, which he enjoyed driving and taking to car shows. MT had many friends and would involve some of them in his goofing off, such as going to look at a lawnmower someone had for sale that neither one of them had plans to buy. MT was also well-known for making or fixing just about anything around the house. If you had a leaky faucet, needed curtains installed, pictures hung, or maybe a fence built, he was your guy.

MT was married to the love of his life, Elaine, for 56 years until she died in 2014. He is survived by his three children: Melody Fuller (Wesley), John Miller (Connie), and Leah Germon. He was known as PawPaw to his seven grandchildren: Cole Fuller (Annie), Garrett Fuller (Audrey), Duncan Miller, Bridget Miller, Olivia Germon, Elena Germon, and Yuri Germon, and two great-granddaughters, Mary and June. MT was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jonathon Germon.

MT’s family would like to thank the Langdale Place and Hospice of South Georgia staff for their compassion and care for Dad during his final days.

Per MT’s wishes, his body will be cremated, and a service will be held at a later date in Muscadine, Alabama.
