MILDRED PORTER DANIELL, 83, formerly of Thomaston died Saturday, June 25, 2005 at the Brooks County Hospital. She was born on April 14, 1922 in Adrian, Georgia to the late Mary and Hinton Porter. Mrs. Daniell worked as a nurse for Dr. D. L. Head for thirty years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Thomaston. She had resided at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman for the past three years.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Arvis Daniell, three daughters and sons in law, Beth Daniell of Acworth, Bonnie and Jud Rackley of Valdosta, Mary Lee and Mike Nichols of Decatur, five grandchildren, Dan and his wife, Jennifer Rackley, Bryan Rackley, Maggie Nichols, Nancy Nichols and Pete Nichols, one great grandchild, Rachel Rackley, one sister, Louise Harrell of Jacksonville, Fla., one brother, Charles Porter of Fort Valley and many devoted nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Myra Mead and sister Christine Underwood.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, June 28, 2005 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Craig Rikard and Rev. Lance Kindred officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1pm until service time.
