Mildred Madeline McDonald, 95, of Valdosta died Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman after a lengthy illness. She was born on September 16, 1915 in Windsor, Ontario to the late Ralph and Edwina Grandmasion Tourangeau and had lived in Dearborn, Michigan from 1946 until 1981 then moving to Valdosta. Mrs. McDonald was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Green of Valdosta, granddaughter and her husband, Lisa and Michael Burrage, great grandson, Lucas Burrage all of Folsom, California, step great grandson, Andrew Burrage of Chicago, Illinois, one sister, Margaret Buliga, sister in law, Joan Tourangeau both of Windsor, Ontario, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter S. McDonald.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Saturday, February 26, 2011 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Dan O’Connell officiating. Mrs. McDonald will be cremated following the services and will be interred at a later date in Detroit, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Building Fund, 800 Gornto Road, Valdosta, GA 31602.
