Mildred L. Griffin

Mildred L. Griffin, 87, of Valdosta, died on Monday, August 21, 2006, at Langdale Place, in Valdosta, Georgia. Born in Castleton, Kansas, on November 7, 1918, she was the daughter of the late John Earl and Grace E. Cogswell Hayes. On October 17, 1943, Mildred married Louis B. Griffin at Castleton Union Church. She had made her home in the Hutchinson, Kansas area until moving to Valdosta in 1998. Mrs. Griffin was a member of Castleton Union Church and the Missionary Society in Castleton, Kansas. While living in Valdosta she was a member of the First Christian Church.

Preceded in death by her husband, Mrs. Griffin is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Marilyn and Roger Noah of Ottawa, Kansas, Janice and Don Murphy of Valdosta; son and daughter in law, Howard and Barbara Griffin of Yardley, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Darrin Noah and wife Maggie, Brock Noah and wife Misti, Matt Jones, Phil Jones and wife Kelly, Micah Griffin, Reed Griffin, Patrick Griffin, and Elizabeth Griffin; three great grandchildren, Brianna Noah, Madison Noah and Keaton Noah.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with The Reverend John O’Brien and Dr. Milton C. West officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park in Hutchinson, Kansas. Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, Post Office Box 1727, Valdosta, Georgia, 31603.
