Mildred Allen Powell

Mildred Allen Powell, 91, of Valdosta went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Heritage Healthcare at Lakehaven Nursing Home. She was born in Echols County on July 5, 1919 to the late Youley Fred and Lillian Dedge Allen. Mrs. Powell had lived in Homerville from 1959-1994 then she moved to Valdosta. She was a former member of the New Vision Church of God in Homerville where she taught the Honey Bee Sunday School Class for thirty five years and had served as a Pink Lady at Clinch Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Powell was currently a member at Abundant Life Church of God.

Survivors include one daughter and son in law, Linda and Walter Bazemore of Valdosta, one grandson, Walt Bazemore of Lake Park and a very special friend, Bonnie Holton of Douglas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Lamarr Powell.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Abundant Life Church of God with Pastor Wayne Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in the Wayfare Cemetery.
