Mike Armstrong, 62, of Dasher, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 after a short illness at Langdale Hospice House. Born on September 9, 1946 in Vivian, LA, he was the son of the late Allen and Lois Armstrong. He was associated with Manheim, Inc. and Georgia Auto Dealers. Mr. Armstrong loved to play golf and play with his grandchildren. He was a sports fan of LSU and Georgia Christian. Mr. Armstrong served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was a member and deacon of Dasher Church of Christ.
He is survived by Anita Wisenbaker Armstrong, of Dasher; daughters and sons-in-law, Kari and David Barry of Hahira, April and Tommy Herring of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Craig Barry, Tayte Barry and Thomas Herring; sister, Alice Dunlap of Valdosta, brothers and sisters-in-law, Al and Mary Jean Armstrong of Valdosta, Charles and Diane Armstrong of Niceville, FL, Berney and Lila Armstrong of Dasher, Don and Betty Armstrong of Ida, LA. Mr. Armstrong was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kailey A. Barry and parents-in-law, Frank and Marguerite Wisenbaker.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Dasher Church of Christ with Mr. David Nelson, Mr. Dale Armstrong, Mr. Nick Rios and Mr. Howard Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Dasher Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Carson McLane Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Georgia Christian School, Dasher Church of Christ or Langdale Hospice House.
