Michael Harold Gard, 74, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at his home. Born in Clearlake, Iowa on January 17, 1944, Michael was a son of the late Christian Harold and Bernice Cunningham Gard. A mechanic, he was the owner and operator of Mike and Son Service Center. Married for 54 years to his loving wife, Mona, he enjoyed playing golf, riding his Harley and working in his yard. A member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, he liked helping people and spending time with his beloved family.
Survivors are his wife, Mona Gard, son, Scott (Cynthia) Gard, daughter, Melissa (Allen) Meeks all of Valdosta; grandchildren, Mikey (Courtney) Meeks, Alex (Jasmine) Meeks, Sara Rae Gard, Victoria White, Becca Pendergrass; great grandchildren, Tristian Meeks, Camden Meeks, Lemon Meeks, Lola Meeks, Lyla Strickland, Anzley Strickland and AJ Strickland; sisters, Mary Davison, Susan (Dick) DeVore; numerous nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his brothers, Charlie Gard and James Gard and a sister, Pat Ford.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Mr. Carl Howard will officiate. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.
