Michael Gary DiTomasso

Mr. Michael Gary DiTomasso was born on December 12, 1946,| to Josephine and Nicholas DiTomasso in Brooklyn, New York.

Mike proudly served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War.

On July 4, 1965, he met his beautiful future wife, Linda DiTomasso, and confidently told her that day he was going to marry her. True to his word, they were married and enjoyed 57 wonderful years together. They raised two children, Dawn Shapses and Michael DiTomasso, creating a loving and supportive family.

Mike's career was as diverse as it was fulfilling. He began his professional journey at Tiffany's and Goldman Sachs, then spent several years in the insurance business before transitioning to car sales at Ford. Eventually, he became a taxi driver and went on to run two different taxi companies for the remainder of his career. Driving a taxi was his favorite job, as it allowed him to meet a multitude of interesting people and indulge in his favorite pastime: talking and sharing stories.

Seeking a quieter life, Mike and Linda decided to leave the hustle and bustle of New York, settling in Hahira, Georgia. There, Mike found great joy in lounging in his backyard with his best friend, his dog Charlie.

Mike leaves to cherish fond memories his wife, Linda DiTomasso; daughter and her spouse, Dawn and Gregg Shapses; son and his spouse, Michael and Christina DiTomasso; 4 grandchildren, Dominic DiTomasso, Justin Shapses, Jayden DiTomasso and Taylor Shapses.

A memorial service for Mike will be held at 4pm on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Hahira Community Church with Rev. Doug Tolson officiating. Online condolences may be shared at www.mclanecares.com.
