Melissa Jane Gibson, 40, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, January 15, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born August 8, 1980 in Charlotte, North Carolina to Scott Keith Gibson and Martha Jane Fultz Parrish.
Melissa worked at Rescare Home Health Care for 15 years, and was the Medicaid Revenue Cycle Manager. Melissa was known by her family, friends, and coworkers as the most kind hearted, sweetest, humble person who always put the needs of others before herself. A true servant’s heart, she inspired those she came in contact with, and all were warmed by her smile, laughter, love, and generosity.
She was a member of Rose Memorial Nazarene Church in Pageland, SC.
She is survived by her parents; Martha Jane and Bob Parrish of Valdosta, and Scott and Sharon Gibson of Fort Mill, South Carolina; her sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Nick Godfrey of Fort Mill, South Carolina, brothers and sister-in-law, Brian Parrish of Apopka, Florida, and Michael and Jan Parrish of St. Johns, Florida, her Grandmother, Avis Gibson of Fort Mill, South Carolina, several loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Melissa was known and loved by all her nieces, nephews, and others as Aunt Lissa. She was preceded in death by her Grandparents; Waddell Gibson, D.E. and Mary Jo Fultz, Charles and Hallie Funderburke, Racy and Nonnie Parrish, and several Uncles.
The family for Melissa Jane Gibson will receive friends on Thursday evening, January 21, 2021 at the Carson McLane Funeral Home from 5 – 7 p.m. Final services will take place in Fort Mill, South Carolina, on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Location and time to be determined.
