Melisa Padgett-Branch

Melisa Padgett-Branch, 48, of Valdosta, Georgia died Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on August 9, 1966 in Virginia, Minnesota to the late James and Beverly Hanela Padgett. Melisa was a member of Bemiss United Methodist Church. She graduated from Virginia High School in 1984 and then went on to attend Lothian College in Minneapolis, MN. Melisa enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Vacationing "up north" at Coe Lake was a favorite destination. She enjoyed crafting and got many ideas from hours spent on Pinterest. She was always up for trying new, tasty recipes, and was a master at making bruschetta. Melisa had a knack for sniffing out bargains. "On sale" were words she used daily. Her greatest accomplishment was her daughter, Mayson. "May Bear" was the light of her life, her treasure. Melisa will be sadly missed by so many.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Branch of Valdosta, her daughter, Mayson Branch of Valdosta, her brother and sister in law, Mark and Lisa Padgett, three sisters and one brother in law, Marcie Padgett (Mike), Maureen Padgett and Marla Padgett all of Minnesota, nieces and nephews, Dylan, Aaron, Whitney and Jesse, her father in law and mother in law, Joseph and Barbara Branch of Russellville, AR, brothers in law and sisters in law, Ted and Roxy Gandert of Albuquerque, NM, A. J. and Misti Gandert of Nebraska, Loretta and Herman Vigil of New Mexico, Marky and Sandra Soliz of Valdosta, numerous nieces and nephews. Melisa is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Melanie Padgett and her mother in law, Mary Ida Branch.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015 at eleven a. m. at Bemiss United Methodist Church, 4879 Bemiss Road, Valdosta, GA with Reverend Ed Thomas officiating. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com.
