Melba R. Weldon

Melba R. Weldon, 87, of Augusta, GA, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023. She was born on December 26, 1935 in Alapaha, GA, to the late Richard W. Rowe and Pearl Howard Rowe. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who adored her family and cherished spending time with them. Her love of music and her talent as a pianist brought joy to many people, and her passion for genealogy inspired her to uncover the rich history of her family. She was an avid reader and loved to spend her free time gardening and tending to her plants. Mrs. Weldon was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Weldon is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Julie Weldon of Augusta, GA, son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Beth Weldon of Benton, AR; grandchildren, Raymond Weldon, Emily Weldon Wilson (Bradley), Ethan Weldon, Steven Weldon, Jr., and Samantha Weldon; her brother-in-law, Tom Weldon (Brenda), of Maryland; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Lavigne, of Kentucky, and Martha Sutton, of Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl Grey Weldon, Jr., brother Billy Rowe, sister Dorothy Rowe, and twelve half brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 in the chapel of the Martin McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Robby Rowe officiating. Burial will follow at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
