M.C. Wooley, Jr.

M.C. Wooley, Jr., 73, of Lake Park passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 18, 2011, at his home.

He was born February 18, 1938 in West Monroe, Louisiana, a son of the late M.C. Wooley, Sr. and the late Lela Belle Black Wooley. He graduated from Ole Miss in 1960 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Following graduation he began his career in Valdosta with Owens Illinois, and moved throughout the country during his career. He returned to Valdosta in 1973 and retired from PCA in 1997 as Mill Manager.

Mr. Wooley was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed swimming, sailing, golfing, and scuba diving.

In addition to his wife, Anne Rice Wooley of Lake Park, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Kevin McDaniel of Winder; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Lesa Wooley of Lake Park; and a daughter, Lea Wooley of Lake Park; seven grandchildren, Morgan and Garrison McDaniel, Lacey, Kristin, Emalee, Samantha, and Amy Gail Wooley; one brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Geni Wooley of Sulphur, LA; one brother-in-law, Harry Rice of Havana, FL; one niece; and two nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Wooley will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in the Chapel of McLane Lakewood Funeral Home, Lake Park, with Rev. Michael P. Lyons officiating. Cremation will follow the services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
