Mazie L. Ritter Lanier

Mazie L. Ritter Lanier, 84, of Lake Park died on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta after a brief illness. She was born in Echols County to the late William T. Ritter and Lura Mae Carter Ritter. Mrs. Lanier lived in the Lake Park area all her life. She was a lifelong member of Sardis Baptist Church in Echols County. Mrs. Lanier was a loving mother, and a wonderful grandmother. She especially loved flowers and her pets. Mrs. Lanier was married for 50 years to F.A. (Donis) Lanier.

She is survived by her son, Larry Franklin Lanier and his wife, Penny Lanier of Seattle, WA; and her daughter, Lynn Lanier Varn, of Lake Park; 5 grandchildren, Arron D. (Butch) Varn, Jr. of Denver, CO, Jennifer Lynn Varn, of Seattle, WA, Amanda Mazzuca, of Seattle, WA, Allison and husband, Adam Olguin, of Henderson, NV, and Lindsay Lanier, of Seattle, WA; 5 great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Brian Muzzuca of Seattle, WA and Alden, Ava and Addison Olguin of Henderson, NV; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 3:30 P.M., Sunday, January, 3, 2010 in the chapel of McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home in Lake Park.
