Maya Goel

Maya Goel, 81, of Valdosta, GA, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on July 18, 1932 in Jhansi, India, to the late Pitamber Das Gupta and Kapori Devi Gupta. Mrs. Goel moved to Valdosta in 1983 and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Maya lived a full life and loved her family dearly. She worked tirelessly to raise four children and take care of a very sick husband. Her love was never ending. During her last few years, she experienced a great amount of pain and suffering. Though we shall forever mourn her loss, we are grateful she is finally at peace and one with god.

Mrs. Goel's survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Sudhir and Poonam Goel, of Valdosta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Manju and Devender Gupta and Vandana and Ramesh Gupta all of New Delhi , India; as well as three grandchildren, Ankur and Noelle Gupta of Augusta, GA, and Anuradha Goel of Atlanta Ga. In addition to her parents she is predeceased in death by her husband, Ram Kumar Goel.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, Cremation will follow. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
